ESG Funds Available

The Emergency Solutions Grants Program (ESG) is a federal block grant authorized by Subtitle B of the McKinney Vento Homelessness Assistance Act and is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The available ESG funds are to be used for services for homeless and near homeless individuals and families in three major categories:

South Dakota Housing Development Authority, in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, will be hosting a public comment meeting at various sites around the state to solicit comments on the drafts of the 2014 Annual Action Plan and the amended 2013-2014 HOME program and Housing Tax Credit Allocation Plans

“Friend of Housing” Award Goes to Jeff Mitchell

South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA) awarded Jeff Mitchell with the “Friend of Housing” award during SDHDA’s 26th Annual Housing Conference held last week in Pierre. Mr. Mitchell was honored for his dedication and contribution to affordable housing in South Dakota. He serves as an integral housing advocate to his community and also to the region on housing related issues.
