HUD Awards $26 Million in Grants to Fight Housing Discrimination

WASHINGTON, DC - January 21, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development today awarded $26.3 million to 98 fair housing organizations and other non-profit agencies in 37 states and the District of Columbia to assist people who believe they have been victims of housing discrimination.

Secretary Donovan approves Recovery Act Plans for two communities in South Dakota to revitalize neighborhoods and create jobs

WASHINGTON, DC - July 16, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan today approved plans for Rapid City and the City of Sioux Falls to use $354,383 in federal grants to help stabilize and revive local neighborhoods, rehabilitate affordable housing, and improve key public facilities. Individually, Rapid City is receiving $132,734 and the City of Sioux Falls is receiving $221,649. Funded through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, HUD’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program will support state and local community development while stimulating employment.
