Julie Clark Receives “Friend of Housing” Award

Pierre, SD – November 9, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — The South Dakota Housing Development Authority (SDHDA) recently awarded Ms. Julie Clark with their “Friend of Housing” award during their 19th Annual Housing Conference held in Pierre. Ms. Clark received this award due to her tireless efforts in helping hundreds of potential homebuyers by providing each of them with a blueprint of what homeownership truly represents. Clark currently holds the position of Education Director for the Sioux Empire Housing Partnership. Through her work she has given potential homebuyers an understanding to the financial obligations of homeownership such as the meaning of credit score, debt ratios, appraisals, budget development and how it relates to the actual purchase of a home and the closing process.

In addition to work in the housing industry Clark is also a member of the Sales and Marketing Executives Organization of Sioux Falls and has worked with Junior Achievement of South Dakota. “Julie Clark has gone above and beyond to provide quality homebuyer education to South Dakotans,” said Mark Lauseng, Executive Director. “She accommodates to the schedule of her clients, she seeks out new avenues to expand homebuyer education and she takes it upon herself to find and explain what new programs are out there that may help potential homebuyers.”

The Friend of Housing Award was started nine years ago to recognize individuals and/or companies who are instrumental in providing affordable housing in South Dakota. Annually, SDHDA accepts nominations for the Friend of Housing award and announces the recipient at their annual housing conference.
