Stephanie Herseth Sandlin announced that the Sisseton-Wahpeton Housing Authority is the recipient of a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Indian Housing Block Grant in the amount of $3,036,849. These funds may be used by the tribe for a variety of eligible housing activities.
Secretary Donovan approves Recovery Act Plans for two communities in South Dakota to revitalize neighborhoods and create jobs

WASHINGTON, DC - July 16, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan today approved plans for Rapid City and the City of Sioux Falls to use $354,383 in federal grants to help stabilize and revive local neighborhoods, rehabilitate affordable housing, and improve key public facilities. Individually, Rapid City is receiving $132,734 and the City of Sioux Falls is receiving $221,649. Funded through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, HUD’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program will support state and local community development while stimulating employment.
