WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 14, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Each year the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocates funding for homeless assistance programs through the Continuum of Care (CoC) competition process. In order to receive funding, each Continuum of Care must submit a consolidated application for funding that describes how local activities meet or exceed HUD requirements and are aligned with community needs.

The South Dakota Housing for the Homeless Consortium (SDHHC) is responsible for coordinating this process and submitting a Consolidated Application on behalf of the State of South Dakota. South Dakota competes for approximately $1 million in funding each year. At this time, SDHHC is requesting comments on the draft application. The CoC policy and advisory committee will then take all comments and add them to the final application to be submitted to HUD in February. Attached is the draft application.
